A little Sunday afternoon reno...

After a week of being on the go with family, projects, life and a vendor fair, I decided to spend my Saturday night like this: It was refreshing and I slept so well last night! As I often do, I dreamt of the projects I want to do around the house and I was so happy with them in my sleep. Upon waking, I decided to start one of these happy dream projects because I want that happiness when I'm awake, too! A little over a year ago, I bought this book case. I had it decorated and set up...

Jenna's table

Jenna's table

I'm making a table for little Jenna. She's almost 4 and needs a table of her own to do the things little 4-year old girls do! I started off by painting the boards for the table top in turquoise, pink, brown and white. Before this is all said and done, I'll sand these boards again to make sure the rough edges and splinters are gone. I'm thankful for spring break (a perk of being a teacher)! Today I got the legs cut and the frame built. This little table is going to be so cute! I'm excited! So after a...

My Serving Trays

My Serving Trays

One of my new favorite things that I'm making is the serving tray. I am making them from 100% found goods (curbside pick-up, yard sales, garage sale groups on Facebook, the Amish market, etc.).  I see these trays as necessities to intimate conversation times with friends or loved ones. I see someone using it in the morning to sit outside with their coffee, toast and devotional material. And, I see it being used around a fire pit as a place to set your Shiner, cigars and peanuts. To me, a serving tray is an accessory that brings people together or...

Amy's Table: complete!

So today was productive and I finished the construction of this table. I am so excited about it! Even my dog likes it! I delivered it to Amy's house and the best part was watching her and her husband inspect it! I love making things and seeing the look on the recipients face! Ready for the next project...

Amy's Table: w.i.p.

Amy, my best friend (since we were silly, little girls), has been looking for a thin entryway/sideboard type table. So, Richard, her husband, asked me if I could make one! Well, of course I'm going to try.  I started over. 3 times. So, here is where I am at this point. The top will be something like this: The legs look like this: Now I feel like I'm on the right track and this will be finished by the end of the weekend! Excited! There is a very certain surge of passion that comes with figuring something out and suddenly...
